Let us know (by editing this page and adding your name) how you can help:
- Daniel Brown – I work a mile or two away from Sigma Xi at the National Institute of Environmental Health Science and live in Mebane. I would be happy to help drive folks around or whatever else comes up that you need a local boy for. If someone is desperate and broke, I might be able to provide a free room with a futon (I’d have to run it by the wife and make sure you are not of ill-repute). Update: yes it’s cool – she’ll probably be out of town anyway.
- Erica Lannan – I also work and live very close to Sigma Xi, and can (attempt) to offer recommendations on restaurants or lodging in the area. I can help distribute name-tags/swag/etc, and I can also help distribute, collect, or summarize after-conference surveys.
- Elle Cayabyab Gitlin – I’ll be there to help work the front desk again! Will play concierge, swag-organizer, tech support, et al.
- Evelyn L. Lynge – I would like to spend some time at the desk at the entrance, distributing name-tags, helping people get oriented, and maybe take pictures?
- Alex K Lee – I’ll be coming out of town (California) but I would like to volunteer during the conference in anyway I can—I think of myself as multi-purpose. I’m sure every other person will have a camera, but I can also do photography during the conference. I’ll probably be taking loads of photos, anyway. I also work in graphic design, so if you guys need help laying out programs or designing fliers, I can definitely offer a hand.
- Risha Zuckerman – I’d like to work the front desk with Elle! I’m also happy to help distribute anything.
- John Rees – I can collect and pack swag, help with set up and break down, take photos.
- Rob Gluck – let me know when/where swag will be packed and I may be able to assist; also may be able to help at either set up or break down.
- Patty and Kim Gainer – front desk, packing swag bags, toting stuff around, setting up & breaking down
- Sol Lederman – I’m happy to help in whatever way I can. In, particular, I should have some time at the end of the conference to help with things.
- Larry Boles – I’d be willing to make airport run or two on Friday afternoon or evening to save money for folks. My email is my name at gmail.
