FridayDinner

If you’re going to be in town on Friday at dinner time but won’t be attending the other dinner time event, perhaps you just want to get together for a meal.

I don’t know the area, but a Google Maps search finds this place, which even has free wi-fi. The TripAdviser description:

American fare infused with Spanish traits produces burgers topped with roasted piquillo peppers; steaks, baked wings, fries and desserts available.

From Anton: Serena has been good to bloggers in the Triangle. See this post.

From David: To follow Anton’s endorsement, I have been to Serena several times since, twice recently with faculty candidates. The food is excellent, the bar has a very nice selection of wines by the glass and micros on tap, and while it can be loud I’ve never found it too loud to chat. Don’t let the strip mall exterior fool you – this is a terrific place.

Here’s a review:

Serena is a wonderful place to eat. Great menu and great food prepared with care and pride. The service is very good but not too stuffy or fake. We have been here several times and are never disappointed. The only downside is that Serena can become very crowded and loud, but that goes hand in hand with a popular place.

If you’d like to attend, add your name to the list below. Or suggest a different location:

  1. Dave Munger
  2. Greta Munger
  3. Tom Levenson
  4. Sol Lederman
  5. Salman Hameed

I’ve made reservations for 5 people at 7:30. If additional people sign up, I’ll see if I can increase that number but I make no guarantees. Meet in the lobby of the Raddison at 7:15. We should be able to carpool to get there.
